Audio Laboratory was formed by Per Svensson and Henrik Rylander in Gothenburg 1997.
Audio Lab. was originally a Soundart Project that could be presented i various forms live and
directly.Ebbot Lundberg and Jean Louis Huhta joined the group the same year and the core
of Audio Laboratory was all set. All members started out as artists at Radium 226.05 Records
during the 80's and was released by the same label in different groups and music projects.
Henrik Rylander and Ebbot Lundberg from Union Carbide Productions, Jean Louis Huhta
from Texas Instruments and Cortex, Per Svensson released Electroacoustic Noise & Poetry.
A number of tomultuous live performances was executed at festivals and venues all over
and the free form industrial noise and drone was all spiced up with harsh improvisation
from odd instruments and different tools. One main idea was to never to do rehearsals - To
create a live happening that was free form and never heard before. The 1st gig at Prinsen
in Stockholm 1998 in cooperation with the Sons of God, in conjunction with Sthlm Art Fair,
was a mindblowing and earblowing experience. Audio Laboratory performed the concert
"Surround The World" at Kolsyrefabriken in Stockholm 2002. - A quadrophonic concert
for 8 electric guitars, Theremin, metal grinder, computer and audio surround system. The
Line up: Per Svensson, Henrik Rylander, Ebbot Lundberg, Jean Louis Huhta, Johan Skugge,
Martin Thomasson, Johan Zetterquist, Frans Johansson, Henrik Håkansson.
This happening was experienced by 500 people in the machine hall at Kolsyrefabriken.
A DVD was produced by Jean Louis Huhta and Per Svensson, released at Firework Edition.
The happening was filmed by Erland Stålberg and Erik Pauser. Support by Konstnärsnämnden.
In 2004 Audio Laboratory performed live at the concert hall at Perspectives 2004 Festival in
Västerås, Sweden, curated by Mats Gustafsson. On the same night as Peter Brötzmann and
Merzbow, The lineup for the evening; Jean -Louis Huhta, Per Svensson, Ebbot Lundberg,
Henrik Rylander, Patrik Caganis + guest Dror Feiler. A great evening - a great night!
Audio Laboratory is now working in the 2nd Album for Firework Edition Records!
